CrimeLink™ can import information from a variety of data sources including databases,
Microsoft Excel® documents, Microsoft Outlook®, text files, FBI compliant biometric files (EFT and EBTS),
and many others.
The information that can be imported may vary with the data source but includes people,
events (activities), phone numbers, phone calls, and any other entity type supported by
CrimeLink. Relationships between the imported items can also be established during
the import process in a variety of ways depending on the structure of the selected data source.
CrimeLink’s new Data Import Wizard will simplify the process by asking you a series of
questions that will help CrimeLink configure an import definition specific to your situation.
If this is a data source that you will be importing from frequently, the definition can be saved
and reused later without the need to rerun the wizard. Your data can be easily mapped to
CrimeLink through a intuitive new drag-and-drop data mapping interface.
