Telephone Toll (Record) Analysis (TTA) can be viewed as a specialized subset of
link analysis. TTA graphically depicts the communications network within and between
individuals and/or organizations in a variety of selective formats. Based on available
information from a variety of sources, TTA shows the analyst the type and location
of telephones or related communications equipment; the time, direction, and duration
of calls, patterns in time, calling order, frequency of calls, billing information,
and most importantly, displays an entire telecommunications network as well as identifying
individual or corporate subscribers.
By automating TTA, data can be entered automatically from a variety of hard and
soft copy formats such as billing documents, pen registers, and intercept records,
as well as manual individual entries. This automated mining of mass data permits
analysis of huge amounts of information in a minimum amount of time.
