1. How do I speak to someone at PCI?

2. Where can I find an upgrade to my existing version?
Please check our website periodically for news and new releases. As always, registered users are entitled to free incremental upgrades of software.  The latest version of CrimeLink™ can be downloaded here.

3. How do I activate CrimeLink™ after I initially install it?
After installing CrimeLink™ for the first time, whether a purchased or evaluation version, the software must be activated to begin using it. If you have internet connectivity from the machine that CrimeLink™ is installed on, activation can be done on line by simply entering the Activation/Evaluation ID that was emailed to you into the Software Activation dialog. If you do not have internet connectivity, simply follow the instructions in the Software Activation dialog and email us your Activation/Evaluation ID and your Reporting Code. We will, in turn, send you an Activation Code that you will enter into the Software Activation dialog to activate your software.

4. What are the minimum requirements to run CrimeLink™ ?
The minimum system requirements are as follows:

  • 2 GHz or faster processor
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP SP2 (SP 3 recommended) or Windows Vista® SP1 (certified for 32-bit Windows XP and Windows Vista)
  • 512 MB of RAM (1GB Recommended)
  • 512 MB of available hard disk space
  • 1,024x768 display (higher recommended) with 16-bit video card
  • Mouse
  • CD-ROM (if purchasing media)


5. When is the next version coming out?
Please check our website periodically for news and new releases. On average, PCI releases incremental versions (bug fixes and minor enhancements) about once every one to two months. Major versions are release on average once every couple of years.

7. What is your upgrade policy?
CrimeLink™ has the best upgrade policy in the industry! When you purchase CrimeLink™, you are entitled to all incremental version upgrades, free of charge, for the life of your product. What does that mean? Simply put, if you purchase version 4.x, you are entitled to freely upgrade to any version 4.x product when it becomes available! The only time you are required to purchase an upgrade is between major versions such as from version 4.x to 5.x, and then you receive a registered user discount.

8. Will CrimeLink™ work with Windows Vista
CrimeLink™ Version 4.4 and above supports Windows Vista®. If you have Windows Vista®, please ensure you download the latest version.

9. How do I configure CrimeLink to use a central database?
To configure multiple copies of CrimeLink to utilize a central database and take full advantage its ability to correlate entities, identify common elements between cases, and to merge cases, please download and follow the instructions in the following document: Configuring CrimeLink to Use a Central Database.pdf
