Test Engineering and Automation

PCI’s staff of highly qualified Test Engineers recognize that test must be an integrated part of the software development process. Failure to do so can lead to increased programmatic costs, while successful integration of test processes can lead to significant savings. With this in mind, PCI specializes in integrating Mercury Interactive Test Tools (Test Director, WinRunner, QuickTest Pro, and Load Runner) into the Software Engineering Lifecycle.

PCI’s most recent success story is with the U.S. Army’s Recruiting system, PM Keystone. Prior to PCI’s involvement all testing was performed using Test Cases and manual testing techniques. Testing of the WebRequest capabilities required five days and seven testers to fully test the 2300+ system requirements.

PCI’s test automation effort for PM Keystone has captured all 2300+ system requirements in a library of QuickTest Pro automated test scripts. The entire library can fully regression test the WebRequest functionality in a matter of two hours, automatically reporting anomalies to Test Director when encountered.

This effort has effectively resulted in a force-multiplier by saving 278 man-hours per test event allowing those test resources to focused on testing new capabilities/functionality – And that makes good business sense.
